Materials & Chemicals
Last updated November 4, 2026
What each FACET product is made of, as the maker describes it, what we are still confirming, and the laws on chemicals in cookware that we follow. Our product pages describe each piece as the maker describes it, and say so. What we are still confirming in writing is listed on this page, and cooktops, oven and dishwasher use, weights, capacities and the chemical declaration appear on a product page only once the maker has confirmed them in writing. We do not fill a gap with a guess. How to use and care for each product is on our Care & Safety page.
On this page
Where things stand
- Materials: we describe them as the maker describes them, for example "titanium, as described by the maker". The table below lists them, product by product.
- Our checks: we are collecting, from the maker, written confirmation of the materials and the construction of each product, and lab reports for our own units, not for similar products sold by others.
- California chemical disclosure: the declaration that California law asks for will be published on the product page of every item that touches food before the shop takes orders. Until then, each of those pages says that it is being confirmed and links here.
- No "free" claims: we make no claim that a product is "free" of a chemical or of a group of chemicals, on this website or on our packaging.
- Proposition 65: no Proposition 65 warning is printed today: the exposure assessment for our units is still pending, and we will add a warning before sale if it shows one is required.
- Orders: the shop does not take orders yet. Before it does, this page and every product page will show what the maker has confirmed.
What each product is made of
The middle column is the maker's description. The third column is what we are collecting in writing from the maker. Once we have it, we publish it on the product page and on this page.
| Product | Materials, as described by the maker | Being confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday Pan, Sauté Pan, Wide Pan, Wok, Crêpe Pan, Pan Trio, Deep Pot | Body: titanium, as described by the maker. Cooking surface: a fine honeycomb texture. Outside: polished metal. Handles: stainless steel. | The construction of the body (one metal or several layers) and the grade of the metal; how the honeycomb surface is made and whether anything is applied to it; the material of the handles and how they are fixed; which cooktops each piece works on, including induction; whether it can go in the oven or the dishwasher; weight and capacity. |
| Glass Lid | Lid: tempered glass. Rim and knob: stainless steel. Ring under the knob: silicone. | That the glass is tempered; the materials of the rim, the knob and the ring; how much heat the lid can take; whether it can go in the oven or the dishwasher; the exact fit of each size. |
| Titanium Board | Titanium, as described by the maker. | The grade of the metal; whether anything is applied to its surfaces; whether it can go in the dishwasher; thickness and weight. |
| Steel Board | Stainless steel. | The grade of the steel; whether anything is applied to its surfaces; whether it can go in the dishwasher; thickness and weight. |
| Walnut Board | Walnut, in a checkerboard of blocks, with a juice groove. | The walnut species and the country where it was harvested; that the blocks are end grain; the glue that joins them; the oil or finish applied to the wood. |
| Wood Utensils | Wood, with a wooden holder. | The wood species and the country where it was harvested; the oil or finish applied to the wood. |
| Rolling Sharpener | Roller: wood finish with metal ends. Angle block: wood with a magnetic metal face. | What the roller and the block are made of; the abrasive of the sharpening disc and of the honing disc; which knives it suits. |
| Mixing Bowls | Stainless steel, mirror-polished inside, brushed outside. | The grade of the steel; the capacity of each bowl; whether they can go in the dishwasher. |
| Coil Scrubbers | Steel wire. | Whether the wire is stainless steel, and its grade; the size of each scrubber. |
Every product is imported. We are confirming the country of origin of each one with the maker. It must be marked on the product or its packaging, as US customs rules require, and we will tell you on request.
Our checks and what is still pending
| What we are collecting | Status |
|---|---|
| The maker's written description of the materials and construction of each product | Being collected |
| Material documents for the metal of the cookware and of the boards, such as a mill test report | Being collected |
| Lab reports for units of our own products: what the surfaces that touch food can release into food, measured against US food-contact requirements, and the chemicals covered by California Proposition 65 | Being collected |
| The maker's declaration of intentionally added chemicals in the handle and in the food-contact surface (California Health and Safety Code 109011) | Being collected |
| Whether PFAS are intentionally added to any product, for the state laws below | Being collected |
| The species and country of harvest of the wood in the Walnut Board, the Wood Utensils and the Rolling Sharpener | Being collected |
| Cooktops, oven and dishwasher use, weights, capacities and thicknesses | Being collected |
We publish a result only once we have it in writing, for our own units. We do not borrow another seller's documents, and we never describe a product as having passed a check that is still pending.
California: the cookware chemical disclosure
California Health and Safety Code sections 109000 to 109014, added by the law known as AB 1200, apply to cookware sold in California: pots, pans, skillets, bowls, cooking utensils and similar household items used to prepare, serve or store food. In plain words, they ask for two things:
- A disclosure: the product's web page, and its label, must list any chemical on the state's Designated List, a list of chemicals of concern kept by the State of California, that is intentionally added to the handle of the product or to any part of it that touches food.
- No misleading "free" claims: a product cannot be described as "free" of a chemical, or of a group of chemicals, when it contains a chemical of that group.
What we do: before the shop takes orders, the product page of every pan, the Deep Pot, the Glass Lid, each board, the Mixing Bowls and the Wood Utensils will show the maker's declaration for its handle and for the surfaces that touch food, in plain words, and the same disclosure will be on the product's label. For the boards, the bowls and the utensils, it will also say what, if anything, is applied to the surface that touches food, such as the oil used on the wood. As the importer of products whose maker is outside the United States, the company that operates FACET is responsible for these disclosures, on the website and on the packaging. Until then, each of those pages says that the declaration is being confirmed and links to this page. We make no "free" claim of any kind, on this website or on our packaging.
State laws on PFAS in cookware
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a large family of chemicals made with fluorine, used in some cookware surfaces and in many other products. A growing number of states regulate cookware that contains intentionally added PFAS. In plain words, as of the date at the top of this page:
- Minnesota prohibits selling cookware that contains intentionally added PFAS.
- Colorado requires a clear disclosure on cookware that contains intentionally added PFAS in its handle or in a part that touches food, and it also prohibits selling such cookware.
- Maine and Vermont prohibit selling cookware that contains intentionally added PFAS.
- Connecticut requires cookware that contains intentionally added PFAS to be labeled as such, and further restrictions are scheduled there.
- Other states, such as Rhode Island and New Mexico (from January 1, 2027), have passed laws of their own on PFAS in consumer products, cookware included, that come into force over the next years.
What we do: we are asking the maker to declare in writing whether PFAS are intentionally added to any of our products, and we will publish the answer on each product page. A product that does not meet the law of a state will not be sold for delivery to that state.
This summary is general information, not a complete statement of these laws: the laws themselves, and the state agencies that apply them, are the reference.
California Proposition 65
California's Proposition 65 requires a clear and reasonable warning before a business exposes people in California to a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, above the levels the law sets.
No Proposition 65 warning is printed on our pages or our packaging today: the exposure assessment for our units is still pending. If the maker's lab report for our units shows that a warning is required for a product, we will add it to that product's page, where you see it before you buy, and to the product or its packaging, before we sell it.
Wood: species and origin
The Walnut Board and the Wood Utensils are made of wood, and the maker describes the roller and the angle block of the Rolling Sharpener as wood or wood finish. Wood products imported into the United States must be declared with the species of the wood and the country where it was harvested, under a federal law called the Lacey Act. We are confirming both with the maker for each of these products, together with the oil or finish applied to the wood, and will publish them on its product page.
Each piece of wood has its own grain and color, so a board or a utensil can look a little different from the images and from the next one.
The Walnut Board is walnut, a tree nut wood. If you have a tree nut allergy, ask your doctor before you use a walnut board.
Asking for the documents
You can ask us for what we have received for any product: the maker's description of its materials, its chemical declaration, and the lab report for our units once we have it. E-mail contact@facet-delta.com with "Materials" in the subject line and the name of the product. We reply within 2 business days, send you what we can share, and tell you plainly what is still pending.
If something on this website does not match the product you received, or you see a claim you think we should not make, please tell us too. We correct it.
