In detail

The Steel Board is a single ultra-thin sheet of brushed steel, 15.4 × 11 in, with rounded corners and a grip opening near one edge.

Chop the herbs, the garlic, the onion, then lift the board by the grip with one hand and slide everything straight into the pan. No scraping the board with the back of the knife, no handful dropped beside the burner.

Because it is so thin, it slides into a drawer or stands in the narrow gap beside the stove. The board is stainless steel.

Questions

Before you order

Something else? Write to us from our contact page. We reply within 2 business days.

How thin is it?

Very thin: a single sheet of steel. We will add the exact thickness and weight to the specs once the maker confirms them in writing.

Does it slide on the counter?

Any thin board can slide on a smooth counter. Put a damp towel underneath while you cut.

Steel Board or Walnut Board?

The Steel Board is for quick jobs: chop, lift, slide into the pan, wash. The Walnut Board is end-grain wood with a juice groove, kinder to your knives and handsome on the table.

How do I look after it?

Rinse it right after use, wash it with warm soapy water and dry it. Never leave it wet on the counter or soaking in the sink. Metal is harder on knife edges than wood, so hone your knife more often.

How do shipping and returns work?

Shipping is included in the price; there is no separate delivery charge. Orders ship within 1 to 3 business days, then take 7 to 12 business days in transit, so allow about 8 to 15 business days from order confirmation. We deliver to the 50 US states and Washington, D.C. Import duties and customs fees are paid by us. If a carrier ever asks you for any, contact us and we will cover it in full. Unused items in their original condition and packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Because they touch food, pans, pots, lids, boards, bowls and utensils that have been used for cooking or food, and opened Coil Scrubbers, cannot be returned for a change of mind. A product that arrives defective, damaged or wrong, or shows a defect within those 30 days, is replaced or refunded, even if it has been used. A broken glass lid must not be mailed back: send us photos and we replace or refund it without a return. Return shipping for a change of mind is paid by the customer; we send the return address by e-mail, and it may be outside the United States. For a defective, damaged or wrong item, we pay it. You can cancel at no charge until your order ships.
