In detail

The Titanium Board is a thin, flat metal board, 14 × 10 in, with rounded corners and a slightly raised edge. It is the board for the wet, messy jobs: a side of salmon, chicken thighs, a ripe pineapple.

When you are done, lift it by the cut-out handle, wash it with hot soapy water and dry it. It dries flat and hangs from a hook by the same cut-out.

The board is titanium, as described by the maker. Metal is harder on a knife edge than wood, so hone your knife a little more often if you cut on it every day.

Looking after it

Care

  • Rinse it right after use, wash with warm soapy water and dry it.
  • Never leave it soaking, and dry it before you put it away.
  • Metal is harder on knife edges than wood: hone your knife more often (the Rolling Sharpener helps).

Step by step

How to use it

  1. Lay it flat on a dry counter; put a damp towel underneath if it slides.

  2. Cut with a sharp knife, fingers curled away from the blade.

  3. Lift it by the cut-out handle and wash it with hot soapy water right away, especially after raw meat, poultry or fish.

Questions

Before you order

Something else? Write to us from our contact page. We reply within 2 business days.

Is it hard on my knives?

Metal is harder on a knife edge than wood. If you cut on it every day, hone your knife more often: the Rolling Sharpener holds the blade at 15° or 20° while you roll. For long chopping sessions, the Walnut Board is kinder to the edge.

Titanium Board or Steel Board?

Both are thin metal boards you wash right after use. The Titanium Board is 14 × 10 in, with a slightly raised edge and a cut-out handle. The Steel Board is a single ultra-thin sheet, 15.4 × 11 in, with a grip opening: lift it and slide what you chopped straight into the pan.

Can it go in the dishwasher?

Wash it by hand with warm soapy water and dry it. Dishwasher use is not confirmed by the maker in writing yet.

What is it made of?

Titanium, as described by the maker. We publish the full material details on this page and on our Materials & Chemicals page once the maker confirms them in writing.

How do shipping and returns work?

Shipping is included in the price; there is no separate delivery charge. Orders ship within 1 to 3 business days, then take 7 to 12 business days in transit, so allow about 8 to 15 business days from order confirmation. We deliver to the 50 US states and Washington, D.C. Import duties and customs fees are paid by us. If a carrier ever asks you for any, contact us and we will cover it in full. Unused items in their original condition and packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Because they touch food, pans, pots, lids, boards, bowls and utensils that have been used for cooking or food, and opened Coil Scrubbers, cannot be returned for a change of mind. A product that arrives defective, damaged or wrong, or shows a defect within those 30 days, is replaced or refunded, even if it has been used. A broken glass lid must not be mailed back: send us photos and we replace or refund it without a return. Return shipping for a change of mind is paid by the customer; we send the return address by e-mail, and it may be outside the United States. For a defective, damaged or wrong item, we pay it. You can cancel at no charge until your order ships.
