Compare the four pans

In detail

The Wide Pan is 12 in across and shallow, with low curved walls and two loop handles instead of one long one. It is the pan for cooking for four or more: a saffron rice with prawns and peppers, chicken thighs braised with olives, a whole pan of vegetables browned side by side.

Inside, the honeycomb texture covers the wide base, so the rice and the browned edges catch the light. The outside is polished, and it looks at home on the table.

Lift it with both hands, oven mitts on, and carry it to a trivet in the middle of the table. The 12 in Glass Lid fits it and is sold separately.

Looking after it

Care

  • Let it cool down before washing; never put a hot pan in cold water.
  • Wash by hand with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. For stuck-on food, soak it in warm water, then use a Coil Scrubber on the inside only.
  • Dry it right away with a soft towel to keep water marks off the polished outside.

Step by step

How to use it

  1. Before the first use, wash it in warm soapy water and dry it.

  2. Warm it over medium heat on your largest burner, add oil, then the food.

  3. Lift it with both hands, always with oven mitts once it is hot.

  4. Set it on a trivet at the table.

Questions

Before you order

Something else? Write to us from our contact page. We reply within 2 business days.

Why two handles?

A wide pan full of rice or a braise is easier to lift level with a loop handle on each side than by one long handle. With no long handle sticking out, it also sits neatly in the middle of the table.

Can it go in the oven?

Oven use is not confirmed by the maker in writing yet, so we do not suggest it. If the maker confirms it, it will appear in the specs on this page.

Which lid fits it?

In the Glass Lid Fits picker, choose "12 in · Wide Pan". It is sold separately.

Wide Pan or Deep Pot?

The Wide Pan is shallow, for food you brown in one layer and serve from the pan. The Deep Pot is deep and rounded, for soups, stews, pasta and chili.

How do shipping and returns work?

Shipping is included in the price; there is no separate delivery charge. Orders ship within 1 to 3 business days, then take 7 to 12 business days in transit, so allow about 8 to 15 business days from order confirmation. We deliver to the 50 US states and Washington, D.C. Import duties and customs fees are paid by us. If a carrier ever asks you for any, contact us and we will cover it in full. Unused items in their original condition and packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Because they touch food, pans, pots, lids, boards, bowls and utensils that have been used for cooking or food, and opened Coil Scrubbers, cannot be returned for a change of mind. A product that arrives defective, damaged or wrong, or shows a defect within those 30 days, is replaced or refunded, even if it has been used. A broken glass lid must not be mailed back: send us photos and we replace or refund it without a return. Return shipping for a change of mind is paid by the customer; we send the return address by e-mail, and it may be outside the United States. For a defective, damaged or wrong item, we pay it. You can cancel at no charge until your order ships.
