In detail

The Wok is 12 in across, with deep curved walls for tossing and a flat base that sits steady on the burner. Noodles, greens, chicken and peppers: the food climbs the walls as you toss it and falls back to the middle.

The honeycomb texture runs from the base up the walls, so you can see the oil move and the edges of the vegetables brown. The outside is polished, with one long handle.

Wok cooking is quick, so chop everything before you start, then cook in small batches and keep the food moving with a wooden spatula. The Wok lid is sold separately.

Looking after it

Care

  • Let it cool down before washing; never put a hot pan in cold water.
  • Wash by hand with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. For stuck-on food, soak it in warm water, then use a Coil Scrubber on the inside only.
  • Dry it right away with a soft towel to keep water marks off the polished outside.

Step by step

How to use it

  1. Before the first use, wash it in warm soapy water and dry it.

  2. Get everything chopped first: wok cooking is quick.

  3. Warm the wok over medium-high heat and add a little neutral cooking oil.

  4. Add the food in small batches and keep it moving with a wooden spatula.

  5. Never leave hot oil unattended.

Questions

Before you order

Something else? Write to us from our contact page. We reply within 2 business days.

Why a flat base?

A flat base sits steady on the burner, so the wok stays put while you toss and stir with the other hand.

Wok or Sauté Pan?

The Wok has deep curved walls for food you keep moving: stir-fries, noodles, fried rice. The Sauté Pan has high, rounded walls, for sauces and braises you stir and leave to simmer under a lid.

Which lid fits it?

In the Glass Lid Fits picker, choose "Wok lid · Wok". It is sold separately, at the same price as the other sizes.

What oil should I use?

A little neutral cooking oil, added once the wok is warm. Cook in small batches, so each piece has room on the walls.

How do shipping and returns work?

Shipping is included in the price; there is no separate delivery charge. Orders ship within 1 to 3 business days, then take 7 to 12 business days in transit, so allow about 8 to 15 business days from order confirmation. We deliver to the 50 US states and Washington, D.C. Import duties and customs fees are paid by us. If a carrier ever asks you for any, contact us and we will cover it in full. Unused items in their original condition and packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Because they touch food, pans, pots, lids, boards, bowls and utensils that have been used for cooking or food, and opened Coil Scrubbers, cannot be returned for a change of mind. A product that arrives defective, damaged or wrong, or shows a defect within those 30 days, is replaced or refunded, even if it has been used. A broken glass lid must not be mailed back: send us photos and we replace or refund it without a return. Return shipping for a change of mind is paid by the customer; we send the return address by e-mail, and it may be outside the United States. For a defective, damaged or wrong item, we pay it. You can cancel at no charge until your order ships.
