In detail

The Sauté Pan is a 10 in pan with high, rounded walls. Pour in tomatoes, wine or stock and the sauce stays in the pan while you stir; pile in a bunch of greens and they wilt down without spilling over the rim.

Inside is the same fine honeycomb texture as the Everyday Pan, catching the light while the onions go soft and gold. The outside is polished, with one long handle.

It is the pan for a one-pan dinner: brown the chicken, add the liquid, put the 10 in Glass Lid made for it on top and let it simmer. The lid is sold separately.

Looking after it

Care

  • Let it cool down before washing; never put a hot pan in cold water.
  • Wash by hand with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. For stuck-on food, soak it in warm water, then use a Coil Scrubber on the inside only.
  • Dry it right away with a soft towel to keep water marks off the polished outside.

Step by step

How to use it

  1. Before the first use, wash it in warm soapy water and dry it.

  2. Warm it over medium heat, add oil, then the food.

  3. Stir with a wooden spatula, and add liquid for a sauce or a braise.

  4. Put the lid on to simmer.

  5. Hold the handle with a towel or an oven mitt once the pan is hot.

Questions

Before you order

Something else? Write to us from our contact page. We reply within 2 business days.

Sauté Pan or Everyday Pan?

Both have the honeycomb texture and one long handle. The Everyday Pan is 11 in with gently sloped walls, for searing and eggs. The Sauté Pan is 10 in with high, rounded walls, for sauces, braises and anything you stir.

Which lid fits it?

In the Glass Lid Fits picker, choose "10 in · Sauté Pan". Each lid is made for one pan, so pick the one named after yours.

What is it made of?

Titanium, as described by the maker. The full material and chemical declaration for this pan will be published on this page and on our Materials & Chemicals page before the shop takes orders.

Can I use metal utensils?

We cook on it with wood. Metal spatulas and whisks can leave marks on the facets, and the Wood Utensils are kind to the honeycomb surface.

How do shipping and returns work?

Shipping is included in the price; there is no separate delivery charge. Orders ship within 1 to 3 business days, then take 7 to 12 business days in transit, so allow about 8 to 15 business days from order confirmation. We deliver to the 50 US states and Washington, D.C. Import duties and customs fees are paid by us. If a carrier ever asks you for any, contact us and we will cover it in full. Unused items in their original condition and packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Because they touch food, pans, pots, lids, boards, bowls and utensils that have been used for cooking or food, and opened Coil Scrubbers, cannot be returned for a change of mind. A product that arrives defective, damaged or wrong, or shows a defect within those 30 days, is replaced or refunded, even if it has been used. A broken glass lid must not be mailed back: send us photos and we replace or refund it without a return. Return shipping for a change of mind is paid by the customer; we send the return address by e-mail, and it may be outside the United States. For a defective, damaged or wrong item, we pay it. You can cancel at no charge until your order ships.
